1879 · Friendship, Jamaica
It begins with Mass Fred.
Alfred Gaynor, born 1879 in the hills of Jamaica. He married Leanora Campbell — Pepper, to everyone who loved her — and from the farms at Friendship their nine children carried the name into the world.
The union
Then two lines became one tree.
A daughter of the Gaynor line, Merlyn, married a son of the Hawthorne line, John Vincent. Where her emerald light met his crimson, everything after them carries the gold.

Seven generations on, the branches reach across oceans — and every leaf knows where its roots are. The tree holds our names, our faces, our voices, and exactly how each of us belongs to it.
