Terms of Service

DiFamilyTree is a private, invitation-only website for members of the Hawthorne and Gaynor families and their invited relatives. By signing in and using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, simply don’t use the site.

Access is granted by family administrators and may be declined, limited, or revoked at any time — this is a family space, not a public service, and the owner’s decisions about membership are final. You are responsible for the security of the Google account you sign in with.

The site exists to hold our shared family record: names, relationships, dates, stories, photographs, and voice recordings. By contributing content you confirm you have the right to share it, and you grant the family the right to keep and display it within this private site as part of the family record. You keep ownership of what you contribute.

Genealogical information is family-reported and offered in good faith. It may contain errors — that’s why cards carry verification notes and a correction process. The site makes no guarantee of historical accuracy.

Don’t share other members’ personal or contact information outside the family. Don’t upload content that is unlawful, hateful, or hurtful to relatives, and don’t attempt to access data or accounts that aren’t yours. Administrators may remove content or members that break these rules.

The site is a family project, provided as-is, with no promise of uninterrupted availability. We keep private weekly backups, but you should keep your own copies of anything precious you upload. The site may change or be retired at the family’s discretion.
